Built for scale. Rooted in strategy.
Phantasm and Brain was founded by a team with deep expertise in enterprise marketing strategy, retail media networks, psychology and global consumer goods.
A lab, not a holding company.
Having managed growth and analytics at some of the world's most demanding Fortune 500 companies, our leadership team understands how to build platforms that scale securely and deliver immediate value.
That background is the reason this is a lab rather than a portfolio. We are not allocating capital across unrelated bets. We are working a single problem, machine-mediated discovery, from both the enterprise and consumer ends at once. What we learn about how models decide what to surface makes the consumer product better. What we learn about how people actually choose makes the enterprise product sharper.
We are named after two lab rats with an ambitious plan. It is a joke we intend to earn.
Four positions that decide what we build.
Discovery is one problem
Enterprise visibility and consumer recommendation are the same question asked from opposite ends: what surfaces, and why. Treating them as one discipline is our entire advantage.
Measurement precedes opinion
Every product we ship starts as an instrument. If we cannot observe a system honestly, we have no business recommending changes to it.
Nuance is the product
Averages are cheap and everyone has them. The value in both ventures sits in the specific, the obscure and the personal.
Enterprise rigour, consumer taste
Security reviews and procurement cycles on one side; ten seconds of attention on the other. Both are non-negotiable constraints, and we design to each.
Operators before founders.
The team's background sits across four disciplines. Each one shows up directly in the products, which is the only reason it is worth listing.
-
Enterprise marketing strategy
Years spent inside the budget conversations that Delphi Monitor is built to inform. We know what a brand team can actually act on, and what gets filed and forgotten.
-
Retail media networks
Direct experience with the machinery that decides which products get seen at the point of purchase, the commercial reality both ventures operate inside.
-
Psychology
Taste in Motion is a modelling problem wearing a psychology problem's clothes. Understanding how preference actually forms is a prerequisite, not a garnish.
-
Global consumer goods
Growth and analytics at Fortune 500 scale, where the data is messy, the stakeholders are many, and platforms are judged on whether they survive contact with a real org.

Where we operate
Working on discovery too? Come and find us.
We talk to enterprise buyers, prospective partners, investors and the occasional person who just wants to argue about recommendation systems. All of it starts the same way.
